Peter trained and was ordained in the Melbourne Diocese prior to moving to Adelaide in 1976. He served as Assistant Curate in three parishes in Melbourne and Adelaide prior to serving in a rural parish in the Willochra Diocese and then a small urban parish in the Adelaide Diocese.
He retired from full time ministry in mid 2016, having spent 33 years in hospital chaplaincy ministry at the Flinders Medical Centre (1983–2004) and the Royal Adelaide Hospital (2004–2016). He trained as a counsellor with Marriage Council of South Australia and was an Accredited Volunteer Counsellor from 1988 to 1990.
His interests include Pastoral Theology, Theological Reflection, theory and practice of Pastoral Care and the practice of Ministry Supervision.
