Leadership Course

St Barnabas College is pleased to announce:

Discernment, Choice and Artistry
Church Leadership for challenging times

A leadership course for those involved or interested in leadership in the local church and other faith-based organisations, run by The Rev’d Dr Don Owers AM

The Rev’d Dr Don Owers AM:

The Rev’d Dr Don Owers AM

Don recently retired after 9 years as Principal at Tabor College of Higher Education – a multi-disciplinary tertiary college with over 800 students and 45 staff.  Prior to this he was Rector at St George’s Church, Magill for 16 years. Don’s doctoral work at Fuller Seminary included a leadership

focus, as did his Master of Management studies at UTS. He considers local church leadership to be one of the most nuanced, challenging and potentially transformative leadership tasks.

The course will provide:

  • A model for understanding organisational complexity (and churches ARE complex!) that will help you integrate your thinking about key leadership situations
  • A set of leadership disciplines that are theologically sound and are validated by evidence-based research
  • A Christian approach to conflict management
  • Opportunities for spiritual reflection on leadership practice

A total of six sessions will be held every Tuesday morning 17 October till 21 November, from 9:30am – 12:30pm

The course will be hosted at St Barnabas College
