St Barnabas College is committed to expressions of all forms of Anglicanism and helping people to discover God’s call.
Ordinands for the priesthood in the Anglican Diocese of Adelaide are generally required to complete the Bachelor of Theology award through Charles Sturt University. The BTh has several areas of speciality: Biblical Studies, Theological Studies, Practical Theology and Church History. For Ordinands, there are several compulsory electives, including Anglican Foundations and Sacramental Theology.
Candidates are required to complete 11 core topics, including 8 in Biblical Studies. Ordinands for the vocational Diaconate are required to complete the Diploma of Theology (8 subjects of the BTH) or the Graduate Diploma of Theology (the equivalent of 1 year full-time study).
There are distinctive arrangements for those teaching in Anglican schools who feel a call to ordination as a School Chaplain. Likewise, the Diocese recognises that some people are called to a distinctive local, non-stipendiary ministry in their home parish.
We welcome your inquiry.
